Jira Assets Reporting Apps Compared — Assets Gadgets, eazyBI & More
Assets Gadgets, eazyBI, Assets Analytics, Asset Studio, StrataCom, My Assets Portal and Atlassian's own Assets reports compared: price, gadgets, AQL, portal.
Reporting on Jira Service Management Assets can be done in several ways: Atlassian's built-in Assets reports, a BI tool such as eazyBI, a dedicated gadget app, or a portal app that shows people their own assets. This comparison puts seven options side by side — what they cost for a 1,000-user site, which charts they give you, whether they read Assets live, and whether your employees can see their own assets in the portal.
We make Assets Gadgets, so read this with that in mind. Competitor information comes from their public Atlassian Marketplace listings and documentation, as of 14 October 2026. Where another app is the better fit, the table says so.
The same comparison is kept up to date on our documentation portal: How Assets Gadgets compares: Assets reporting apps for Jira.

Which option fits which team
Assets Gadgets
For teams that want Assets dashboards on ordinary Jira dashboards, live, with plain AQL, plus a My Assets view for employees in the portal — in one app. The IT-specific gadgets (expiring warranties and licences, licence seats, data quality, value / TCO) work without building reports first. It runs on Atlassian and needs no API keys. It is not the right choice if you report across several Jira sites: it works on one site.
eazyBI
The strongest option when Assets is one data source among many in a BI tool: custom measures, MDX, multi-source imports, and several Jira sites. The cost is setup effort and freshness: data arrives by scheduled import, the app runs outside Atlassian, and Assets analysis happens in MDX rather than AQL.
Assets Analytics (Jaanga)
A visual chart builder for Assets with a wide set of chart types (treemap, Sankey, KPIs) and raw AQL when you need it. Good if you want to design charts yourself; it does not include an end-user portal or ready-made IT asset views.
Asset Studio (Rixter)
Tables, cards and charts with multi-instance support — the reason to pick it if several Jira sites must be reported together. It runs outside Atlassian (Cloud Fortified).
StrataCom
Free. Three table gadgets with full AQL input, grouping with totals and Excel export. A good start if tables on a dashboard are all you need; there are no charts.
Atlassian's built-in Assets reports
Included in JSM Premium and Enterprise. Four fixed reports in a separate Assets Reports area, with saved reports, subscriptions and export. They are not dashboard gadgets, there is no AQL, and data can be 30 minutes or more behind.
My Assets Portal (Forged)
A portal app: employees see their own assets in the JSM portal in tabs defined by AQL, with deadline notifications. The lowest-priced paid option here if the portal is the only thing you need; it has no dashboard gadgets or charts.
FAQ
What is the best Jira Assets reporting app?
It depends on what you report and for whom. For live dashboards with AQL plus a My Assets portal on one Jira site, Assets Gadgets covers both. For BI across many data sources or several sites, eazyBI is stronger. If you only need free tables, StrataCom is enough.
Is there a free way to report on Jira Assets?
Yes. StrataCom gadgets are free and give AQL tables on dashboards. Atlassian's own Assets reports are included in JSM Premium and Enterprise. Assets Gadgets is free for teams of up to 10 users.
Does eazyBI show live Assets data?
No. eazyBI imports Assets data on a schedule, typically about daily, and analyses it in MDX. Assets Gadgets, Assets Analytics, Asset Studio and StrataCom read Assets live.
How do I show employees their own assets in the JSM portal?
With an app that adds a My Assets view to the portal: Assets Gadgets or My Assets Portal by Forged. Assets Gadgets also shows it as a Jira page and a dashboard gadget. The setup is in how to show users their assets in Jira Service Management.
Can I report on several Jira sites at once?
Of the apps here, Asset Studio (Rixter) supports several sites, and eazyBI can import from several sources. Assets Gadgets works on a single site.
Do these apps respect Assets permissions?
Assets Gadgets lets the admin choose between Respect mode (people see only objects they may see) and Unrestricted mode. Asset Studio and Atlassian's reports respect Assets permissions; eazyBI applies access at account or import level; Jaanga does not state it.
